"To get a good night's sleep, you need to drop one degree of body temperature," says independent sleep expert Neil Stanley. "We usually have no problem with that, but if you eat too much fat or sugar late at night, you'll need to burn the calories off, which creates heat. During the day, you'll burn off those calories. But at night, your body doesn't want to do the work."
